Web Broadcast of the Workshop
http://media.nacs.uci.edu:8080/ramgen/encoder/live.rm
The proceedings of the workshop will be
broadcasted on the web with a live broadcast on the first day (23rd)
and a recording of presentations for subsequent days. The live
web broadcast on the 23rd will be accessible from the conference
website. We will include necessary information beginning next
week.
We hope to have two parallel streams, one showing the
presentation and the other showing the speaker. First day
activities include a two hour panel discussion on the "Future of CMB
Studies and the CMBpol".
Overview:
..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
The
recently established Center
for Cosmology at the
University of
California, Irvine is hosting a workshop
March 23 - March 25, 2006.
The
Organizing Committee is planning an agenda that will involve a
good mix observers, experimentalists, and theorists. The workshop will
consists of planery talks and
discussions related to following topics (in random order of importance):
:: Current anisotropy measurements and cosmological
parameters
:: Small-scale secondary anisotropies
:: Sunyaev-Zel'dovich cluster searches
:: Current and future polarization measurements
:: Inflationary gravitational waves and B-modes
:: Foregrounds, systematics and statistical challenges
:: Detector development and associated technologies
::
CMB Task Force report
There
will be a $150 registration fee for the
conference which will be used to cover the cost of breakfast and lunch
for
participants at the Beckman Center.
The
workshop program, including talks and
discussion sessions, will be available on March 1, 2006, and it is
anticipated that the workshop proceedings will be published.

Poster
Presentations:
..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
The organizing
committee was not able to accommodate
all requests for oral presentations, and several experimental groups have expressed
interest in displaying poster that
represent their current research. For this reason, we are making arrangements to display posters at
the workshop site.
Posters can be set up on the
first day and can remain on display for all three days of the workshop. Coffee breaks
will provide the necessary opportunities
for poster presentations, as the posters will be arranged in open areas where refreshments will
be served.
Ideally, posters should fit
within an approximate area of 4 ft
x 4 ft. (thumbtacks will be provided).
If you are interested in displaying
a poster(s), please contact Asantha
Cooray before March 15th,
so that the Beckman Center will have sufficient time to order poster boards.
Registration
..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Registration for the conference is now closed. If
it is necessary that you attend, please send an email to one of
the Local Organizers.
At this time, attendance cannot be guaranteed as the number of
participants exceeds the maximum allowed in the conference
room.
The conference program is tentatively scheduled to be finalized by
mid-February.
There is a $150 registration fee for participants. Unfortunately,
we may not be able to accomodate all requests to attend the workshop.
Due to space constraints, the number of participants is limited to 60.
:::
The deadline to
submit initial information is February 1st, 2006 :::
The
Science Organizing Committe will complete the selection of participants
and contributed talks shortly thereafter. We will then send out
invitations along with information regarding the process for payment of
the registration fee.
For additional information, please contact Asantha
Cooray, UC Irvine (acooray@uci.edu),
or Manoj Kaplinghat,
UC Irvine - (mkapling@uci.edu).
