Fellowships Available to
U. C. Irvine Physics & Astronomy Graduate
Students
The graduate program in Physics &
Astronomy at UCI provides some
financial
support to all entering students. During their first year of study,
graduate
students are typically provided stipends, tuition and fee fellowships,
and/or Teaching Assistantships. In subsequent years, students
typically receive support through Research Assistantships
once they begin their doctoral studies. Listed below are some of
the sources
of financial support for entering and continuing graduate students at
UCI.
Teaching Assistantship

These awards require up to 20 hours of
teaching service per week. The
award currently pays a nine-month stipend of $14,572. Teaching
assistantships
for the summer months are also available.
Research Assistantship
....................................................................................
These awards pay the stipend of students who are pursuing
doctoral dissertation
research. The current twelve-month stipend is $18,389.
