We need financial help to keep this program running.

The major costs of the program are three-fold.
  1. Hiring undergraduate student presenters. All the presentations are done by undergraduates and they benefit from this experience in many ways. The undergraduate students have the opportunity to help elementary and middle school children, improve their public speaking skills and understand basic physics principles better.  The school children connect better with the undergraduate presenters rather than university professors. This is also a great training experience for those undergraduates who are interested in the teaching profession.
  2. Van rental and associated costs. We transport all the equipment from UCI to the schools in a cargo van. A new or used van is a must.
  3. Remuneration for faculty who train the undergraduates and manage the shows.
The cost to keep this program running over the entire year (three quarters) is about $35,000 to reach about 10,000 school children in the Orange County area --- basically about $3.5 dollars per student. The total cost per year is lesser by about $7K if we don't have to rent the van.
