UCI
Irvine,
Physics Majors have
their
own small classes (with a Faculty member teaching the course) right
from
the beginning of the introductory sequence. This means that you get an
introductory physics course for physics majors, not the generic course
for engineers. This is the type of experience you might have at a small
liberal arts college.
Because
we are a top
rate Research University,
most of our undergraduates are able to participate in research as part
of their
undergraduate
career. Students can even be co-authors on papers in the
top
research
journals. This is only common at a major research university.
