Teaching
I typically teach one course per academic quarter, at UC Irvine. These include undergraduate and graduate courses in Physics and Astronomy. During the Summer quarter, I teach at UC Irvine’s COSMOS program for high school students.
This course completes the 3A,B,C series of basic principles in physics. Typically we have between 200 and 350 students. We start with oscillating springs and end with modern quantum physics, where there is no longer a distinction between particles and waves.
Waves, Light, and the Quantum World
This course is for non-majors and requires only a basic understanding of algebra. Cosmology is the study of the origin and evolution of the Universe itself -- the totality of phenomena of time and space. By the end of this course, students will have tackled some of the oldest questions in the Universe.
We cover the hot big bang through structure formation. No previous course in general relativity is required.
