Finding the UCI Cosmology Center and Department of Physics and Astronomy
                     
The Department of Physics and Astronomy is located in Frederick Reines Hall (FRH), which is building 401 in the main campus map.
The Cosmology Center and Astrophysics Faculty are located on the 2nd floor of FRH, and span the Eastern Wing of the 2nd floor.    (Turn left out of the elevators)
The secretary's office (Simmons) is FRH 2164.  
The Director's ofiice (Bullock) is FRH 2127.

Location:

We are ~3miles from the beach (Corona del Mar) roughly half-way between LA and San Diego. 

Exact directions to UCI campus are available here.  If at all possible you should plan to fly into SNA (Orange County Airport).  If you decide to fly into LAX
(unadvised), Longbeach (better), or San Diego (worse) consult these campus directions. 

What you should do:

We strongly advise you to fly into SNA and stay at the Atrium hotel.  In this case, you will not need to rent a car.  Contact Carrollann Simmons (below) and she will arrange your hotel.

From John Wayne Airport (SNA):

The easiest way to UCI is to take a cab from John Wayne (the Orange County airport).  The trip will be about ~10min.  ~15 dollars. The cab driver will know where the campus is but bringing along the campus map may help locate our building.  You need the Physical Sciences area, and to get dropped off in parking lot 12B.

Parking:

The department will provide you with a parking sticker.  Email the Astro/Cosmology secretary Carrollann Simmons (below) for more information on parking.

Hotel:

Most of our guests stay at the Atrium Hotel.  Please contact Carrolann Simmons (below) and she will make the reservation for you and get you the UCI rate.  This is located just accross from The OC airport.  The Atrium has a free shuttle to/from the airport and a free shuttle to campus.  Call the Atrium from the telephones located in the baggage claim areas at SNA if  you would like to stop there first.
