| April 3, 2007 Postdoctoral Position Available in Ultrafast Spectroscopy An interdisciplinary group of six faculty at the University of California, Irvine seeks a postdoctoral scientist. Our research focuses on the development of ultrafast spectroscopy in combination with scanning tunneling microscopy to explore the ultrafast behavior of single molecules. This collaborative project is directed by professors Ara Apkarian (Chemistry), Wilson Ho (Physics), Doug Mills (Physics), Eric Potma (Chemistry), Philip Collins (Physics), and Nien-Hui Ge (Chemistry). The Candidate must have a strong background in ultrafast spectroscopy/microscopy and extensive hands-on experience with femtosecond lasers. The candidate must also possess the ambition to learn more about areas in which they have less expertise. The candidate will carry out research centered in the laboratory of one PI, but also coordinate the activities of multiple graduate students working in each of the PI’s labs. The initial appointment is for one year, and is renewable for up to two additional years.
