First SPS Meeting + SPS Bonfire
SPS will be having our welcome meeting this Tuesday October 6th in FRH 2137 at 5pm. Please feel free to drop by, we'll introduce everyone and socialize a bit, talk about what people would like to see out of the club, and organize carpooling to the SPS bonfire the next day. Also, as people probably are wondering, pizza will be provided. Hope to see everyone there!

SPS Meetings
It is now winter quarter, and SPS meetings will be held in the SPS room (FRH 2137), every Wednesday at 3:00 pm. We encourage all physics majors, and anyone interested in physics to come to our weekly meetings to socialize, discuss physics, classes, etc. In each meeting, we will have a problem solving contest, with a prize for the one who solves the problem the quickest.

The New SPS Room
The SPS room has been moved to Frederick Reines Hall, Room 2137. The room is on the second floor, in the physics wing of the building, the first door on the left after you pass the hallway. We now have four computers in the room and a larger whiteboard, but no windows. We also kept the microwave, the couch, the books, and the large table, but we didn't take the fridge (it wasn't working properly anyway). The room may be locked, so if you are an SPS member and want a key, you can Eugenia Feran or Prof. Elizabeth Barton, and get a key from the department office on the fourth floor of Frederick Reines Hall. If you are not an official member of SPS and would like to join, you can join by filling out the application online, or you can fill out this membership application form, and mail it to the national organization with your membership fee. Some additional benefits of being an SPS member are listed here and here.
