Timothy Carleton

Tim is currently a 2ond year graduate student in astrophysics. His research centers on galaxy evolution using observations to determine the formation histories of galaxies. Tim was the Astronomy Outreach Coordinator in 2014 and he will be a teaching assistant in our COSMOS program for talented high school students in the summer of 2014.

Shea Garrison-Kimmel

Shea is currently a 5th year graduate student in astrophysics. In his research, he creates and analyzes his own N-body simulations of galaxy formation and evolution to the predicted properties of dwarf galaxies in Local Group-type environments. Shea was a teaching assistant in the COSMOS Astronomy & Astrophysics summer program for high school students from 2010-2012.

Andrew Graus

Andrew is currently a 2ond year graduate student in astrophysics looking forward to doing research on galaxy evolution. He  is currently the Astronomy Outreach Coordinator and was a teaching assistant in the COSMOS Astronomy & Astrophysics summer program for high school students in 2013.

  Liuyi Pei

Liuyi is currently a 4th year graduate student in astrophysics. Her research involves using reverberation mapping of active galactic nuclei with data obtained at Lick Observatory to measure the masses of the supermassive black holes at the galaxies' centers. She gives tours and classroom visits in the Astronomy Outreach program and has taught in the COSMOS Astronomy & Astrophysics summer program for high school students since 2012.

John Phillips

John is currently a 4th year graduate student in astrophysics. His research involves using Sloan Digital Sky Survey data to quantify how star formation is quenched in galaxies that happen to be the satellites of more massive galaxies. He was the Astronomy Outreach Coordinator for two years (2010-2012) and has taught in our COSMOS Astronomy & Astrophysics summer program for high school students since 2011.
