The UC Merced Yosemite Field Station's address is 7799 Chilnualna Falls Rd., Wawona, CA 95389. It is located approximately 25 miles from Yosemite Valley, 4 miles from the South entrance to Yosemite National Park, and 5 miles from the Giant Sequoia Grove. The South Fork of the Merced River runs very close to the Yosemite Field Station, too. So bring your family and join us in exploring the wonders of the heavens and Earth!

UPDATE - 08/20/2017 - 1:00 AM 
Please note that the South Fork wildfire began last Sunday about 1.5 miles east of Wawona. Initially the fire moved north and eastward, opposite the direction of town, but unfortunately the fire began moving westard Friday night toward the town of Wawona, and the Sheriff declared a mandatory evacuation of the town. Therefore we have to cancel the two events we planned there (star-gazing on Sunday evening, Aug 20 and solar eclipse viewing on Monday, Aug 21). Our thoughts go out to the residents of Wawona and the firefighters, sheriffs and other emergency responders who are trying to save the town and get the fire under control. We wish them success!
