Physics Professor and Department Chair Timothy Tait is the recipient of the 2019 UCI Academic Senate Mid-Career Faculty Award for Research.
The Distinguished Mid-Range Faculty Award for Research is awarded to mid-range professors (Associate Professor through Professor V) who have made outstanding contributions in their discipline through their research.
The award is conferred by the Senate on a faculty member who has made significant contributions to scholarship through sustained, distinguished research. It is among the most prestigious awards University of California faculty members can receive from their colleagues.
