ABSTRACT:

The discovery of neutrino flavor oscillation, and the existence of non-zero neutrino masses, is the only confirmed observation of phenomena not allowed by the standard model of particle physics. In this seminar, I will describe the experimental evidence for neutrino oscillation, and how current and future accelerator-based neutrino experiments will use neutrino oscillation to study why we live in a universe made of matter and not antimatter, with a focus on the world-leading T2K experiment in Japan.
