2016 Reines Lecture - Steven Chu - "Energy, Climate Change and the Transition to a Sustainable World"

Date:  March 9, 2016
Time:  7:30 - 8:30

The Industrial and Agricultural Revolutions are fantastic examples of how science and technology have profoundly transformed the world. In his talk, Nobel Laureate Steven Chu will describe recent data on climate change, and the rapidly changing fossil fuel and renewable energy landscape. He will share his observations on how energy efficiency and clean energy sources are becoming the low cost option to our energy needs.

The 2016 Reines Lecture will be delivered by Nobel Laureate Steven Chu on March 9, 2016. Dr. Chu is co-recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Physics for his research in cooling and trapping of atoms with laser light. He served as the 12th United States Secretary of Energy from 2009-2013 and currently he is Professor of Physics and Molecular & Cellular Physiology at Stanford University.
