Six dimensional superconformal field theory (6D SCFT) have attracted renewed attention because many strange low-dimensional theories can be obtained by its compactification. One of the mysteries is the nature and role of "non-critical strings" sourcing self-dual two-form tensor fields. They are responsible for non-Abelian nature of 6D SCFT, unlike non-Abelian gauge theory is described by point-like particles sourcing vector fields. We try to understand their nature in terms of "elementary strings", by which all the strings can be generated.
