Abstract:
Abstract:  This colloquium will be an overview of the huge modern field of DFT, in application to electronic structure problems.  Examples are from many different fields, including condensed matter physics, chemistry, materials science, warm dense matter, mathematical physics, and machine learning.  I will highlight both some of the successes of the theory and the existing challenges.  If time permits, I will discuss some of the differences between different disciplines.   The talk is aimed at a general audience.
