Physics Grad Caucus Alumni Panel

Curious about careers post-phd from UCI? Come meet our alumni and hear about their paths from phd to career professional. There will be short presentations followed by open Q&A for graduate students. Our esteemed panelists include: Dr. Suzanne Genc, Associate Physical Scientist at RAND Corporation and former participant of the ChaMP Program. Dr. Genc worked on bio-photonics in the Department of Chemical and Molecular Engineering. Dr. Sean Merritt, Director of Research and Development at Cercacor, a medical device start up focused on non-invasive monitoring of glucose. Dr. Merritt is a former student of both the Physics and Biomedical Engineering Department where he worked on biomedical optics. Dr. Carol Hood is Associate Professor of Physics and Director of the Murillo Family Observatory at the California State University, San Bernardino. Dr. Hood is a former participant of the Physics and Astronomy department where she studied properties of galaxies and super-massive black holes. She is also involved in various outreach programs oriented to increase the participation of under-represented students in Physics and Astronomy.
