Abstract:
In this talk I will summarize part of my work about magnetic ux com- pacti cations from six to four dimensions. In the rst part of the talk I will describe how the internal ux can lead to some attractive features for model building and present a speci c example for a supersymmetric Spin(10) grand uni ed theory. In the second part of the talk I will discuss quantum cor- rections to mass terms of the elds in the e ective four-dimensional theory and elaborate why some interesting cancellations happen for scalar masses even after SUSY breaking.
