Professor Huolin Xin has been awarded the 2021 Beall Innovation Award in the Physical Sciences.
UCI Beall Applied Innovation, with generous support from Don and Ken Beall, created the annual UCI Innovator Awards to recognize UCI researchers working actively to promote commercialization of university intellectual property, which supports industry growth and moves inventions from the lab to market to benefit humankind.
Award categories include, Emerging Innovation/Early Career Innovator of the Year, Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year, Innovator of the Year and occasional surprise awards that vary yearly. Nominations are submitted by deans and leaders of special research programs and reviewed by a selection committee comprised of a balanced panel of experienced leaders actively involved in the innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
