A Southern California collaboration led by Prof. Kev Abazajian, and physics faculty at UCLA and UCSD, was awarded a UC Southern Hub Seed Grant to initiate collaborative research between UCI, UCLA, UCSD, and Los Alamos National Laboratory  on keV-scale sterile neutrinos. Research in theoretical work will lay the groundwork for the experiment HUNTER (Heavy Unseen Neutrinos from Total Energy-momentum Reconstruction).

The $80k one-year grant will support graduate student researcher work at each campus and an in-person workshop in the 2022-23 academic year.
