UCI Professor Sasha Chernyshev Elected 2022 AAAS Fellow

Sasha Chernyshev, Professor of Physics and Astronomy, joins the ranks of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) fellows. He has been elected for his efforts on behalf of the advancement of science, Physics Section, with the citation: for contributions to the theoretical understanding of quantum materials.

Election as a Fellow of the AAAS honors members whose efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications in service to society have distinguished them among their peers and colleagues.  Election as a Fellow of AAAS is an honor bestowed upon members by their peers. Fellows are recognized for meritorious efforts to advance science or its applications.  

The new fellows will each receive an official certificate and a gold-and-blue rosette pin at a gathering later this year. The new class will also be featured this month in the AAAS News & Notes section of Science.
