Abstract:

Effective Field Theories (EFTs), and in particular SMEFT, play an essential role in our searches for New Physics. After reviewing its pivotal role between complete UV theories and observables, we will discuss the geometric picture for EFTs and its advantages over the more standard approach. In particular, we will see how to use it to derive the renormalization group equations, at one-loop for EFTs with any type of spins, and at two-loop for scalar theories.
