On Friday, April 26, the UCI Postdoctoral Association hosted the 8th Annual UCI Postdoctoral Scholar Research Symposium. Postdoctoral scholars from across campus presented research in talks and poster sessions, with prizes awarded for the best presentations.
Postdocs from the Department of Physics & Astronomy put on a clean sweep, with Jacob Luhn winning first prize for best oral presentation, and Raquel Martinez winning first prize for best poster presentation.
Dr. Luhn was awarded best oral presentation for his talk "Silencing the Ringing in Old Stars: A New Approach to Searching for Planets around Evolved Stars."
Dr. Martinez was awarded best poster presentation for her poster titled "A Planet is Born: Leveraging the Keck Telescopes to Catch Planet Formation in the Act."
