Abstract:  The impact of scientific results is often dependent on how well those results are disseminated to the public. Effective science communication has always been difficult due to varying education levels, choice of communication medium, and audience reach. Recent years have seen a conversion from standard media consumption to an algorithmic based one, which has implications for science communication and scientific literacy. This talk will discuss science communication and its direct competition: conspiracy physics.
