ABSTRACT: Anomaly mediation is a ubiquitous source of supersymmetry breaking which appears in almost every theory of supergravity. In this talk, I show that anomaly mediation does not actually break supersymmetry. Instead, anomaly mediation is the consequence of an underlying anti-de Sitter algebra, and the resulting (flat space) soft mass terms are necessary for conservation of the (AdS space) supercurrent. While anomaly mediation is usually considered to be a loop-suppressed effect, I show that anomaly mediation has an impact already at tree-level, albeit not for soft mass terms but for goldstino couplings. This has corresponding effects (at least in principle) on supersymmetric phenomenology. |
