ABSTRACT:
I will summarize estimated densities of dark matter in the
central regions of galaxies and the satellites of the Milky Way and discuss their inconsistency with the predictions of cold dark matter (for example, WIMP) only simulations. I will then explore dark matter with significant self-interactions as a viable modification of the cold dark matter paradigm. If there is time, I will summarize constraints on WIMP dark matter from gamma-ray observations of the Milky Way center and its satellites.
