ABSTRACT:
BBN predicts about three times more lithium than observed in the atmospheres of the old stars. Currently, there is no consensus on what is behind this discrepancy. I give an overview of particle physics inspired scenarios that can modify lithium content during the BBN, and discuss my recent paper on the solution to the lithium problem that uses light axion-like particles
