ABSTRACT:
I present the history of neutrinos and of the pioneers who discovered them and measured their properties. I then discuss their description in the current theoretical framework, with an emphasis on the study of the neutrino masses and parameters,
which act through the seesaw mechanism, as windows on the structure of our universe at its earliest moments.
